Okayama University was founded as a comprehensive university in 1949 and has been expanding its achievement with 10 faculties and 7 graduate schools. It was originally founded as the Okayama-Han (Domain) Medical Training School in 1870.
Now, Okayama University is known for its multidisciplinary approach and high-quality research. Okayama University has been appointed by MEXT to promote Study in Japan project, due to its strong network in the Southeast Asian countries. Starting last year April, Malaysia has become the primary focus of this initiative. In collaboration with the six national universities’ consortium (SixERS), Okayama university has been actively developing to strengthen educational ties between Malaysia and Japan. In this effort, partnerships with key local organizations such as JAGAM play a vital role in expanding outwards and deepening engagement with Malaysian students interested to study in Japan.
