University

One of Japan’s top 10 universities, the University of Tsukuba opened its doors in Malaysia, becoming the first overseas Japanese campus.
The University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (UTMy) is the first Japanese university to establish a branch campus in Malaysia based on cooperation between the governments of Malaysia and Japan.
We offer a 4-year bachelor’s programme at its "School of Transdisciplinary Science and Design,” and are committed to providing education through traditions and contemporary practices featuring a cross-disciplinary curriculum.
The programme aims to cultivate global talent capable of addressing complex global challenges by providing a broad education in both the humanities and sciences, with a special focus on data science. To achieve this, UTMy utilizes a problem-based learning (PBL) in a unique organisation comprised of outstanding Japanese professors from various disciplines, enabling the implementation of its innovative educational programmes.
We anticipate that future UTMy graduates will work for Malaysian and Japanese companies, be employed by other international companies, or continue their studies at graduate schools anywhere in the world.
